Dina is teaching me to cook! And with a skilled master such as Dina, I am a fortunate young Padawan. We figured breakfast dishes were a good place to start.

Sweet Potato Galette

We’ve made a couple of different varieties of potato galette in recent weeks. (Served alongside eggs with mushrooms, turkey bacon and other stuff… but the galette is the real dish that I’m trying to learn.)

Today Dina had the idea of taking the galette, which is usually an herb flavored dish, into the lightly sweet direction. So instead of regular baking potatoes and rosemary, we went with some sort of Asian sweet potato. We left out the herbs, Dina added some orange zest and a teensy bit of sugar, and the result was darned tasty! I’ll post the recipe (both the original and our modification) sometime soon. Add a little yogurt on top with some fresh strawberries and… mmmmmmmmm.
